Working Together
How I Work
Everything you need to know before we start. Process, timelines, what I need from you, and what you can expect from me.
The Process
Four phases to results
Every project follows this proven structure. It keeps things predictable, ensures quality, and makes the whole experience smoother for everyone.
Discovery
We start with a conversation. I need to understand your goals, your audience, your constraints, what success looks like, and what's been tried before. This is also where we figure out if we're a good fit.
Strategy
With understanding comes direction. I create the blueprint: objectives, content structure, visual direction. You'll review the approach before any execution begins. Changes here are cheap; changes later are expensive.
Design & Development
This is where things come to life. Whether it's interactive modules, brand assets, or website builds - you'll see progress throughout and have opportunities to provide feedback on working prototypes.
Delivery & Support
Testing, integration, and handover. I don't disappear after delivery. You get documentation, training on how to make minor updates, and support for any teething issues.
Timelines
How long does a project take?
It depends on complexity. Here's what's typical for different project types.
Single Module
2-4 weeks
15-30 minute interactive module. Includes discovery, storyboard, development, and one round of revisions.
Multi-Module Course
6-12 weeks
3-6 modules forming a complete learning program. Phased delivery with checkpoints throughout.
Brand Identity
3-6 weeks
Full brand strategy, logo design, and guidelines. Includes research, concepts, and refinement rounds.
Website
2-4 weeks
Business website (5-7 pages). Design, development, and content guidance included.
What affects timelines?
SME availability, feedback turnaround, content complexity, and existing content quality all play a role. The discovery phase gives us a realistic picture.
Your Part
What I need from you
The best projects happen when we're both invested. Here's what makes things run smoothly.
A dedicated point of contact
One person who can make decisions, gather feedback, and keep things moving. Design by committee creates delays.
Timely feedback
When I send something for review, getting feedback within 3-5 business days keeps momentum. Delayed feedback delays delivery.
Existing content and assets
Whatever you have-brand guidelines, old materials, reference documents. Even if it's messy. It's faster to improve than create from scratch.
Budget transparency
Knowing your budget helps me design a solution that fits. I'd rather right-size a project than discover misalignment later.
Trust in the process
I'll push back on things that won't work. I'll suggest alternatives you haven't considered. That's what you're paying for.
Clear feedback
Specific is better than vague. "The tone feels too formal" helps. "Make it pop" doesn't.
FAQ
Frequently Asked
What industries do you work with?
Healthcare and aged care is where I have the deepest expertise. I understand clinical workflows, ACQS standards, and the challenges of training distributed workforces. That said, the principles of good design apply everywhere-I've worked across corporate, education, and small business sectors.
Do you work with small organisations?
Yes. Smaller organisations often need more scalable solutions-templates that can be updated internally, simpler technical setups, or phased approaches that spread investment over time. The discovery phase helps us find the right fit for your capacity.
What tools do you use?
eLearning: Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Camtasia. SCORM/xAPI for LMS integration.
Design: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma.
Web: HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Vzy, custom builds where needed.
What if we need changes after delivery?
Minor updates within 30 days of delivery are included. After that, I offer ongoing support packages or can quote individual updates. I also provide source files and training so your team can make simple changes independently.
Do you offer rush projects?
Sometimes, depending on current capacity. Rush projects (significantly compressed timelines) typically carry a 25% premium to account for the schedule disruption. That said, I'd rather discuss whether we can phase delivery or find other solutions first.
How do we get started?
Start with a conversation. Use the contact form or email me directly. Tell me about your challenge-doesn't need to be a formal brief. We'll have a discovery call where I learn about your needs. If it's a fit, I'll send a proposal with scope, timeline, and investment.

Let's talk about your project
Tell me what you're working on. A 20-minute conversation is usually enough to map out the right approach.
